When buying new, better fuel economy can mean a lower price tag due to the taxes being levied on fuel inefficient vehicles and rebates designed to promote fuel efficiency, including hybrids and electric vehicles. These incentives and disincentives change over time and can differ across the country, so it is important to inquire into both Provincial and Federal programs before buying.
