Growing Organically for Health and Environment
People are increasingly concerned about what is in their food, and what effects it may be having on their health. It seems as though there are new studies almost every week raising questions about the impact of pesticides on health, especially children's health.
Producing food organically also means that farmers are not exposed to pesticides and synthetic chemicals, so it is better for their health, too. Not least, chemical fertilizers are hard on the insects and microorganisms that are critical for soil health. It adds up to a growing movement as consumers seek healthier food produced in ways that are sustainable and healthy for the environment.
