Kids Can Take Action

Kids can be involved in making a difference.  When children speak up, politicians and other leaders listen.  it is much harder to ignore kids, when they will be ones inheriting the world we leave behind. When kids get involved in activism early, it prepares them to be leaders of the next generation. A number of environmental organizations have youth or kids wings to help mobilize the voice of children.

On the world stage, kids have been leaders in helping to fight climate change, and promote sustainable development.  This speech by 12 year old Severn Suzuki at the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro demostrates the power kids can have when they speak up.
